HISTORY
“The Quality is born in our vineyards.”
Viñedos Emiliana S.A. was founded in 1986, with the name Bodegas y Viñedos Santa Emiliana. The primary objective of our company was – and still is – to produce exceptional wines via integrated vineyard management. At Viñedos Emiliana S.A . we treat each part of the winemaking processes as an integral part of the whole, beginning with a careful tending of the soils, and culminating in a world class wine.
We owe much of our success to the fact that from the beginning, we have focused on investing in our own land. Today, we proudly own more than 3800 acres in the some of the choicest valleys of Chile. Because of this, we can say that every bottle contains the best that Chilean wine zones have to offer.
Beginning with the premise that “The quality is born in our vineyards”, our company is constantly innovating to achieve the excellence that characterizes us, guaranteeing that all of the grapes used in our wines come from our very own vineyards located in the valleys of Casablanca, Maipo and Rapel (Cachapoal and Colchagua). All three, internationally known for possessing the best Chilean soils, climates and topographies for wine-making.
During the production process, there is an innate harmony between the exceptional quality of the vineyards, the attention to detail during the processes involved and the dedication of the human team. Within this framework, we at Emiliana Vineyards have put into practice an integrated handling system that meets with the highest environmental production standards. In 2001 this caring spirit and concern for the environment earned us the ISO 14.001 certification, a first for any Chilean vineyard and a source of great pride for those of us who everyday put forth the efforts to craft wines of outstanding quality, and is a reminder to us of our steadfast commitment to the environment.
In 1998 we set in motion an historic project that consisted of integrating vineyards from the valleys of Casablanca, Maipo and Colchagua, and incorporated them into a netwotk of organic and biodynamic vineyards, giving birth to Emiliana Orgánico, a ground-breaking project in Chile and pioneer in Latin America.
